Energy Efficient Design
Objectives
- O.1To promote sustainable development which minimises energy usage
- O.2To ensure that development contributes positively to an overall reduction in energy consumption and greenhouse gases
Design Principles
- P.1Residential development is to be designed having regard to the design principles embodied in the Building Sustainability Index (BASIX).
- P.2The principles and properties of thermal mass, glazing and insulation are to be recognised and incorporated into the design of new buildings to achieve a high level of energy efficiency.
